Auction123 Templates are Fully Compliant with eBay’s New Policies

As of June 1st, Your Auction123 eBay Listing Template will be Fully Compliant with eBay’s New Policy to Remove “Active Content”

You may have received a message from eBay regarding upcoming changes they are making to the way listings can be designed or presented on These changes no longer allow “Active Content” within the body of your listing. Active Content includes the use of javascript, flash animation, inline pop-up windows, and most embedded video code.

Our development and design teams have reformatted the Auction123 templates to accommodate this new policy by making trivial changes to the existing add-on widgets in the template editor, resulting in a minimal impact on your current layout. These changes occurred in the Shipping, embedded Video, Image Viewer, and Similar Vehicles widgets.

You do not need to do anything regarding this change. The Auction123 system will automatically convert your template over to the new compliant code on June 1, 2017. You will likely not see any difference in your layout or presentation. Should you have any questions regarding these changes, please feel free to contact Customer Support at (888) 514-0123, Option 2 or email

Thank you for being a valued Auction123 customer. We look forward to continuing to provide you with the best tools available for listing and managing your eBay and Craigslist postings.

Auction123 Named the Gold Award Winner in the 2016 Dealers’ Choice Awards

Thank you to all who nominated and voted for Auction123 as your favorite Online Inventory Listing Management provider! We are extremely honored to be named as a 7 time category winner in the Dealers’ Choice Awards.

Auction123, the leading provider of inventory marketing solutions for dealerships of all vehicle categories, is honored to be the recipient of the Gold Award for Best Online Inventory Management Provider in Auto Dealer Monthly’s 2016 Dealers’ Choice Awards. This marks the seventh year Auction123 has been recognized in these awards.

The winners of the 12 annual Dealers’ Choice Awards will be announced in the upcoming July issue of Auto Dealer Today magazine. The awards are based on a comprehensive survey that allowed dealers and dealership personnel to recognize their favorite vendors, suppliers, and finance companies in 34 categories. Thousands of dealers from across the nation take part in the voting, scoring their providers on the product or service itself, customer support and service, overall value, and whether they would recommend the company to another dealer.

“This year’s winners include Dealers’ Choice Awards regulars as well as a number of new companies that have emerged as major players in a variety of categories,” said David Gesualdo, publisher of Auto Dealer Today and F&I and Showroom magazines. “But they all have one thing in common: They have earned the loyalty and praise of dealers, and they deserve our congratulations.”

“We are extremely grateful to our loyal clients who took the time to vote for Auction123 in this year’s Dealers’ Choice Awards”, said Ray Basha, C.E.O of Auction123, Inc. “Our main focus has always been to provide dealers with the most innovative tools coupled with superior customer service. Being recognized as a 7 time category winner is a huge honor and confirms that we are living up to our goal to offer the best possible inventory marketing solutions.”

Mapping Your Auction123 Images to eBay’s Gallery Images

eBay’s Picture Services allows up to 24 images to be uploaded directly to, with your first 12 images being free for each eBay Motors listing. These images display in the eBay gallery at the top of your listing and are prominent in the mobile view of your eBay ad. The Auction123 system automatically sends the maximum number of free images available to the eBay gallery. However, you have the ability to increase the number of images sent for all listings from your default eBay settings.

We’ve added a new setting that allows you to select which images in the Auction123 system are used for the eBay Picture Services. This provides an opportunity to create a better representation of the vehicle within the 12-24 images that are uploaded directly to eBay, especially if you capture images in the same order for each car.

Picture Services Mappings

To set the order of your eBay images:

  • Click on Account Settings under the Preferences section in the left-hand navigation menu.
  • Click on the eBay tab.
  • Locate the “eBay Picture Service” section and turn on the switch for “Enable Manual Photo Ordering”.
  • Set which Auction123 image slot should be used for each of the eBay Picture Services images.
  • When you have finished setting the order, click Save.

Adding Your YouTube Video to Auction123 – Updated Process

YouTube removed the ability to access the “Old Embed Code” for your uploaded YouTube videos some time ago. As you may be aware, eBay does not accept the embed code YouTube now provides. In an effort to make the process of adding your YouTube videos to your Auction123 Dashboard easier so they will appear in your eBay listings, we’ve modified the process. You will no longer need to utilize a 3rd party embed code converter to implement your YouTube videos. Simply grab the YouTube ID for your video, or copy the direct link to your YouTube video, and paste it within the YouTube ID section located in the “Edit Third Party Video” screen of the Dashboard. Your YouTube video will now be associated with your vehicle and ready to list to eBay without any extra effort.

Adding your YouTube Video to the Auction123 Dashboard:

  • Navigate to the YouTube video you would like to associate with a unit in your Dashboard.
  • Locate the YouTube ID in your URL. This is the text within the URL that appears after the equals (=) sign. Another option is to copy the entire URL. The Auction123 system will automatically seek and extract the YouTube ID from the URL.

YouTube ID

  • Navigate to the unit in the Auction123 Dashboard you would like to associate with the YouTube video.
  • Click on “Edit Third Party Video” within the Actions for this Item or Actions for this Listing menus.
  • Paste the video ID or the entire URL into the field titled YouTube ID and click Save. If you paste the entire URL, the Auction123 system will automatically seek and extract the YouTube ID from the URL.

YouTubeID Dashboard

  • Your video is now associated with the selected unit and will be in the acceptable format for posting to eBay. Be sure your eBay Template includes the video module so your newly added video will display in your listing. To confirm, navigate to the Preferences section within the left-hand navigation menu and click on Template. Confirm the Video module appears within your default template, or if you’ve saved specific templates for eBay and Local Market, confirm the module is included within those layouts.
