Craigslist Account Password Reset

Craigslist has been forcing many accounts to reset their passwords. To ensure continued service between your Auction123 Dashboard and your Craigslist account, we recommend you attempt to log into your Craigslist account to see if you are required to update your password. Once completed, be sure to log into your Auction123 account and update your Craigslist login information.

Updating your Craigslist account information in Auction123:

Craigslist account info

  • Log into your Auction123 Dashboard.
  • In the left-hand navigation menu, click Feeds under the Preferences section.
  • Select the Craigslist tab.
  • Locate the Craigslist Account Settings section and update the “Account Password” with your newly updated Craigslist password.
  • If you have more than one Craigslist account associated with your Auction123 Dashboard, be sure to select each account from the “Select Account to Edit” drop-down menu and update the password for each Craigslist account you own.

Required Updates Needed to your Auction123 Craigslist Application

On Monday, August 14th, you will need to update the Auction123 Craigslist application running on a Windows PC(s) at your dealership.  These updates are due to security certificate changes with the application and are necessary for your Craigslist tool to function. Once we push these changes live, you should receive a notification that an update is available or you can check for updates yourself. Follow the instructions below to complete the process.

Right-click on the “123” logo in your system tray and select “Check for Updates.”

Once completed, you will see a pop-up stating “Windows protected your PC”. You will then need to click on “More info“, then click the button that states “Run anyway” to start the process.

A window will then open asking if you would like to install the Auction123 Launcher Application. Click “Install” to complete the update process.

If this process is not completed prior to 8/22/2017, the Auction123 Craigslist Application will no longer run, disabling your ability to list or manage postings. Please contact Auction123 Support at (888) 514-0123, Option 2 if this occurs or if you need any assistance.

Craigslist Enhancement – Add Craigslist Specific Content to your Postings

Criagslist Descriptions - Layout Editor

You can now customize your Craigslist template by adding Craigslist specific descriptions throughout your postings! This content will automatically appear across all of your Craigslist ads, providing an excellent opportunity to include more information within your Craigslist template.

  • Under Preferences in the left-hand navigation menu of the Dashboard, click on Descriptions.
  • Click on the Craigslist tab.
  • Set a title for your description, enter the content you would like to appear on all postings, and click Save All.
    If you wish to enter multiple descriptions in your Craigslist template, click Add New after saving and repeat the process.
  • When you are done entering your description(s), click on Feeds in the left-hand navigation menu.
  • Click on the Craigslist tab.
  • Scroll to the section titled Configure Ad Options. From here, drag and drop the Craigslist description boxes wherever you want your content to appear in your postings.
  • Once positioned, select which saved description you would like to display for each Craigslist Description widget you’ve added to the template.
