New eBay Lead Distribution Settings – Control Which eBay Leads Auction123 Delivers to Your CRM or Email

The placement of your eBay ads in eBay’s search results depends on a variety of criteria. Listings posted by Top Rated Sellers will show up at the top of the search results. The listings that follow are ranked by their activity or “popularity”, based on the number of page views, bids, and offers received. To generate the most activity on your listings, eBay recommends you utilize the Auction format and follow a simple pricing strategy; Set your starting price low ($100), utilize a Reserve (the price you want for the unit) which cannot be seen by shoppers, and do not use a Buy It Now. This format is proven to produce the most amount of activity, subsequently boosting your listing higher in search!

Using this strategy can sometimes result in an overabundance of unique bids due to the low starting price. Auction123 sends a notification with the contact information for the first bid from any bidder on a particular item, not for EVERY bid from that bidder. Many eBay bidders setup proxy bidding, where they set an amount they allow eBay to bid up to on their behalf. Unfortunately, you can never know if the $100 bid received is from a person who has proxy bidding setup to go up to $25,000! This is why Auction123 recommends you contact each and every bid notification we deliver, as there is no indication what this person will be bidding up to. This is also why we urge you to actively observe your listings from within your Auction123 Dashboard so you can see how high the bidding is going.

  • Example: Your listing has 3 unique bidders. You received a bidder notification from Auction123 with the contact information upon receiving each bid for $100, $200, and $300 respectively. Unless you actively observe the bid activity from within the Auction123 Dashboard, you will not know the current bid amount on the listing.

We receive a lot of requests from dealers who want more control over which leads are delivered to their CRM from their eBay listings. As a result, we’ve added new settings that allows you to determine if we deliver leads outside of a set percentage of your Reserve or if we should deliver any auto-declined Best Offers.

To enable the lead distribution settings for your eBay leads, follow the instructions below:

  • Navigate to the Preferences menu on the left-hand side of your Dashboard and click Account.
  • Click on the eBay tab.
  • Expand the Lead Distribution menu.

Lead-Dist-Setting

  • If you do NOT want to receive the contact information for anyone who placed an Auto Declined Best Offer, check the corresponding box. You will have the opportunity to go into the listing and force send these filtered leads to either your email or CRM.
  • If you only want to receive the contact information for bidders whose bid amount has reached a certain percentage of your Reserve, check the corresponding box and set your percentage. You will have the opportunity to go into the listing and force send these filtered leads to either your email or CRM.

Keep in mind that if a shopper has proxy bidding set to a high amount, but the bidding never reaches a price that falls within your distribution criteria, you will not receive that bidder’s contact information unless you manually send the bidder to your email or CRM.

To send any restricted lead to your email or CRM, follow the instructions below:

  • Navigate to the listing in your Auction123 Dashboard and from the Listing Details section, click on the number next to your total Unique Bids or Best Offers to view all that were received for that listing. You can also click Show Listing Activity under the Actions for this Listing menu to view all Bids, Offers, or Questions received for the selected listing.
  • Select the lead that you would like to push through and click either Send to Email or Send to CRM.

Did You Know? eBay Motors Receives the Most Traffic on the Weekend – List Some National Ads Today!

Triple the number of qualified leads you receive this weekend by listing inventory to eBay Motors! Using eBay’s National Auction format, you can easily receive 8-12 unique bids on each listing using eBay’s recommended pricing strategies. Remember, when using Auction123 to publish your vehicles to eBay Motors, you will receive the name, telephone number, email address, and location for each bidder.

#1 Keep Your Starting Price Low

By starting your auction at a lower price of $100, you draw more attention to your listing. The more page views and bids you receive, the higher your listings will show in eBay’s search results.

#2 Call Every Bidder

Reach out to each bidder shortly after receiving the email with their contact information. Your bidders may be shopping on other vehicles and you want to be the first person they speak to. You never truly know their bid as eBay shoppers can setup Proxy Bidding, which allows them to set the highest price they are willing to spend and eBay will automatically increase their bid to that amount.

Once you get in contact with your bidder, start asking them the same questions you would for anyone who steps on your lot. Are they looking at other makes/models? What is their ideal monthly payment? Have they considered new or are they just shopping for a used vehicle? During this process, you may find that you have other inventory that meets your shopper’s needs better. Be sure to send an Email Ad to Customer found in the Actions for This Listing menu within your Auction123 Dashboard to show them other vehicles you have available in your inventory.

#3 Use the Auto Lower Reserve Setting

eBay recommends you lower the Reserve Price of your auction style listings at least two times for each 7 day listing. By lowering your Reserve Price, eBay will automatically send an email to each bidder that you have lowered the Reserve. They will also display a notification to all of the Watchers of your listing as well. Following this practice typically increases the number of bids you receive and ultimately gets your current bid price higher towards your Reserve. Auction123 provides an automated process for you to set how often you want the Reserve lowered on all of your listings, and we will lower the price by $1 based on your criteria. Set it and forget it!

To access these settings, once in the Dashboard, click on Account in the Preferences section of the left-hand navigation menu. Select the eBay tab and expand the last menu item called Auto Lower Reserve. Check box labeled Enable Auto Lowering Reserve and set how often you would like the Reserve lowered.

eBay Motors Best Practice – Auto Lower Reserve Settings

Did you know that lowering your Reserve Price on your eBay Motors National listings is a proven way to boost the final bid price and increase the number of bids you receive? Auction123 provides an easy way to automate this process so you can lower the Reserve Price (“tickle your listing”) on a set schedule for all your National listings. eBay’s studies have found that tickling your listing at least two times during your 7 day Auction will generate more interest and cause your Bidders and Watchers to take action. Lowering the Reserve (even by a dollar) will automatically send out a notification to your Bidders. Additionally, any Watchers of your Auctions will see a notification on their eBay account that your listing experienced a drop in the set Reserve Price. Scheduling your Reserve to be automatically lowered can generate five to six more bids per listing and will increase the probability of your Auction’s success by 50%!

To locate this setting within your Auction123 Dashboard, navigate to the Preferences Menu along the left-hand side of the dashboard and click on Account. Click on the eBay tab and expand the Auto Lower Reserve section on the bottom of the window. Check the Enable Auto Lowering Reserve box and set the start time and frequency for your listings to be lowered. Once set, click Save All.

80 Character Seller Provided Titles for your eBay Listings

Auction123_New_eBay_logo

eBay has increased the number of characters they will accept in the Seller Provided Title field from 55 to 80. Your eBay Seller Provided Title is very beneficial to your ad as all text within this field is searchable. During the creation of your eBay listing within the Auction123 system, we will attempt to automatically populate this field with a keyword rich Title. To take advantage of the increased character limit, you can edit the eBay Title within your Dashboard by adding up to 80 characters within this field.

Editing your eBay Title within the Auction123 System:

Be sure to edit the Title prior to listing your vehicle on eBay. If the vehicle is already live as a National Listing, you can edit the sub title if the vehicle does not have any bids. If the listing is a live Local Market ad, you can edit the title if the vehicle does not have any pending offers.

  • Navigate to the eBay View of the vehicle you wish to edit
  • Click on the eBay Seller Provided Title link within the eBay details to open the Listing Editor
  • Add additional characters to the auto-generated title or use our Keyword Suggestions link to see suggested keywords for your listing
  • Click Save Listing to apply your Title edits
